About the Event
Come join Barnard in Washington as we are given a behind the scenes private tour of DC's newest museum, Rubell Museum DC.
The Rubell family's contemporary art collection was originally opened to the public in 1993 in Miami. Over the years as their collection expanded, the Miami museum moved to a larger location in 2019. Adding to the expansion of the family's art collection, is their new DC location which opened in October 2022. Housed in the former Randall Junior High School, this National Register of Historic Places landmark building has been beautifully and lovingly preserved to house this impressive and monumental collection.
Join us as the Director of the Museum, Caitlin Berry, leads us on a private tour of the building and the highlights of the more than 7,400 paintings, photographs, sculptures and installations featuring some of the most exciting contemporary artists.
After the tour you may either continue touring the museum on your own or join us for lunch at Masala Art
(https://www.masalaartdc.com/).
Please contact Judy Acs at biwclub@aol.com if you have any further questions or would like to be included in the luncheon afterwards.
